Macro Mania – A New Perspective On Hawk Watch

Hawk Watch is an incredible place to see spectacular birds of prey. Hawk Watch has been a subject of one of my previous posts: http://travelandtweets.com/2018/03/31/hawk-a-palooza/. One of my favorite birds this year (I didn’t have a single favorite because they are all so cool) was Penelope, a Ferruginous Hawk. I also really like Poncho the Peregrine Falcon as well as all of the owls from Project Wildlife. January and February are the months that Hawk Watch is in session, so go soon or you will have to wait until next year.

As well as seeing the incredible birds, I got to use my new macro lens for the close up meet and greets after the show. A macro lens is a lens that lets you get close up photos that are super crisp. I have taken some awesome photos at the last two Hawk Watches using my new macro lens. Macro lenses are very good for getting incredible details and colors in bird’s plumage, and other things as well. Owls in particular have amazing feather patterns which lead to very beautiful macro photos.
