Vintgar Gorge

The funniest thing that happened at Vintgar Gorge was that we saw three White-throated Dippers (aka European Dippers) jumping off rocks, taking a dip, and popping up further downstream.

Next we saw trout lazily floating in an emerald green pool.

After we saw the trout we hiked down to a pool below a waterfall.

The pool was so cold I couldn’t believe that trout were swimming in it!

I didn’t know that the pool was so cold until I put my feet in!

On our hike back upstream we stacked rocks on a rocky shore sticking out halfway into the river.

Vingtar Gorge is spectacular!
